THE ORDINARY PRODUCT(S) REVIEW | THE DECIEM BLOG POST

Given the hype around The Ordinary products I knew I had to try some products from the line so a month ago, I visited the Deciem store in the Distillery District in Toronto. I picked up the Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution and the High Spreadability Fluid Primer. I wanted to test out their Serum Foundations, but several shades were sold out, so hopefully one day my shade will be in stock.

I've been using these products for about a month, and in that month I have also picked up several more products from The Ordinary, as well as received a sponsorship with Deciem for a future blog post. So, if you're curious about the company, keep an eye out for more things Deciem! In the meantime, keep on reading if you want to know more about these two products...

GLYCOLIC ACID 7% TONING SOLUTION

A social media star, the Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution is a toner that is designed for all skin types to enhance skin radiance and texture. Glycolic acid provides mild exfoliation while also correcting the pH balance of your skin after cleansing. Its recommend use is once a day, preferably in the PM as it does have a mildly acidic (like vinegar, although it doesn't sting) scent. Because glycolic acid may make your skin more sensitive to the sun, you should also wear sun protection during the day to combat that. Personally, I love glycolic acid and I think it's so beneficial in your skincare routine for daily exfoliation. I know other brands offer similar solutions, but at $8.40 CAD for a 240mL bottle, you really can't go wrong.

HIGH SPREADABILITY FLUID PRIMER

The High-Spreadability Fluid Primer is a makeup base designed to increase the spreadability of your makeup whether it be foundation, powder, concealer, etc. I was pleasantly surprised with how lightweight this primer feels on top of my skin. It is more watery and serum-like than you would imagine, but it still mattifies your skin while leaving a hydrated, dewy-like finish. I like to reach for this primer on days when my skin feels a little more dry and needs that hydration aspect before foundation application. While the only thing critique I have of this primer is its slightly "off" scent, I just think it's so interesting how a primer can be mattifying yet hydrating at the same time.

Coming up soon, I will be posting about some serums from The Ordinary, as well as a special post featuring some products from Deciem's Hylamide line!
