REVLON ONE STEP HAIR DRYER AND VOLUMIZER | REVIEW
Here's a fact about me - I rarely ever do my hair. The most I do is quickly blow dry it every time I wash it, but I don't even attempt a blow-out or anything of the sort. Well, that has changed since I started using Revlon's Salon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer! Essentially, it's a hot air brush designed to brush, dry, and volumize your hair all in a single step.
I am incredibly uncoordinated when it comes to brushing and drying my hair at the same time. I find it quite difficult to hold the hair dryer in one hand and a round brush in the other (let's just say I did not enjoy cosmetology class in high school), so the One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer is a life saver. The oval brush makes it super easy for me to run the tool through my hair, helping to add volume at the root and then a bouncy, light curl at the end. It literally feels like having a salon blowout every time I dry my hair now.
Other key points:
- Boosted by Ionic Technology, so hair dries faster with less damage
- The brush/dryer is ceramic coated for even heat distribution
- There are three heat settings: high, medium, and cool
- It's super lightweight and ergonomic
- Tangle free swivel cord
I will say the only con I have with this hair dryer is that I don't feel quite comfortable using it alone as a hair dryer. Since I blow dry my hair straight out of the shower, it's still quite damp and I much prefer to blow dry my hair normally, then finish off with the Revlon One Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer. I find I can't get the brush close enough to my scalp to dry the hair there, but once it's about 75% dry, this tool makes a world of difference!

MY FAVOURITE LIVE CLEAN PRODUCTS | GIVEAWAY

PHYTO PARIS | PHYTOJOBA LINE REVIEW
A couple weeks ago I was introduced to Phyto Paris at their 50th anniversary celebration, hosted at La Maquette in Downtown Toronto. I had never heard of Phyto Paris before, so attending this celebration was a great introduction to the brand, and I got to learn all about their history from 1969 up until now in 2019! Just as a brief summary, Phyto Paris has been one of the leading haircare brands in Europe. Over the 50 years they have been in business, they have released a huge range of products. Today I'm featuring their PHYTOJOBA line which I've been using for the past month.
The PHYTOJOBA line is a moisturizing hair care range that restores softness and shine to dry and dehydrated hair without weighing it down. There are three main ingredients in the PHYTOJOBA formulation; jojoba oil, jojoba milk, and mallow extraction. These all help to hydrate and condition the hair, maintaining strength while softening the hair fiber.
PHYTOJOBA MOISTURIZING SHAMPOO | $20 (250mL)
This is a pearly-tinted and shimmering shampoo that offers a fine and light mousse. I learned that PHYTO products are highly concentrated, and so I've literally been applying the smallest amount into the palm of my hands, and work it into a lather on my wet hair. It doesn't offer the same intense foam that drugstore shampoos tend to do, but by hair and scalp feel just as clean!
PHYTOJOBA MOISTURIZING MASK | $30 (150mL)
This is a rich, silky cream that instantly melts into the hair to hydrate it without weighing it down. What I love about this product is how little you need to use, which is great considering the price of one tube. I use a quarter size amount and apply it on the ends of my hair which helps to detangle it after shampooing. You can use this as a conditioner in the shower or a full-on hair mask if you plan on leaving it in for longer.
PHYTOJOBA MOISTURIZING GEL CARE | $30 (150mL)
One of Phyto Paris' newest products, this is a hair treatment designed to add shine and suppleness. I've been applying two pumps of this to my hair on wet and dry hair daily, and it just adds the most delicious scent to it. Since it's a gel formula, it doesn't feel heavy on my hair at all, and when combined with both the shampoo and conditioner, it's the perfect hair-care routine to ensure my hair stays healthy right down to the fiber.
I've been loving this simple, three step hair-care routine from Phyto Paris. Having just heard about the brand too, I was pleased to learn that in 2019, they have taken major steps to limit their environmental footprint. Their bottles are 100% recyclable and they have eliminated all paper instructions/boxes from their packaging. As small as this may seem, just these simple acts have the biggest impacts on the environment.
Overall, I'm very impressed by the products I've been using. I've been loving luxe, higher-end hair products lately because I personally think they have just done wonders for my hair. Yes, they are more expensive than your typical drugstore shampoos and conditioner, but the products don't contain any fillers and are concentrated with high quality ingredients so you don't have to use much.

LIVE CLEAN MINERAL CLAY SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER | REVIEW
Today we're talking about Live Clean's newest shampoo and conditioner release - the Mineral Clay Rebalancing range. I've actually tried a few different products from Live Clean before (hair care, hand soaps, etc), but I was super excited to hear that they've released a shampoo and conditioner duo for "combination hair" ie. oily roots and dry ends.
As someone who washes their hair every day (I know, forgive me, but I am trying to get better at going on no hair wash days!), my hair gets oily very easily especially at the roots. In turn, the ends of my hair lose their moisture resulting in dry and split ends. Live Clean's Mineral Clay Rebalancing shampoo purifies oily roots while the conditioner hydrates, detoxifies, and moisturizes dry ends.
Live Clean's Mineral Clay Rebalancing Shampoo and Conditioner combine three mineral clays - Kaolin, Montmorillonite, and Bentonite - known for their cleansing, oil absorbing, and stimulating properties. The shampoo and conditioner also contain known purifiers such as Apple Cider, Tea Tree, and Green Tea. In terms of moisturization, the range contains Vitamin E and Provitamin B5.
I've tried a number of Live Clean's shampoos and conditioners before and I have never been disappointed. My favourite is their Exotic Nectar Argan Oil range which is extremely hydrating, but what I really love about the Mineral Clay Rebalancing range is just that - it's "rebalancing". Since I wash my hair every day, I like how this shampoo and conditioner doesn't weigh down my hair with too much moisture but instead, hydrates where it is needed and absorbs oils where it is needed.
Another plus is that Live Clean's products use plant and natural based ingredients, they are paraben free, pure vegan and vegetarian, and are totally cruelty free! VIVISCAL | GORGEOUS GROWTH DENSIFYING RANGE
A couple weeks ago I attended the launch for Viviscal's new Gorgeous Growth Densifying hair care line. I had never heard of Viviscal before, but I was super intrigued by their products because as you know, my hair is limp and thin (although spoiler alert, it's gotten so much better because of these products), and Viviscal's main product function is to thicken and help with hair growth.
As I'm writing this, I've gone through an entire bottle of shampoo and conditioner already, so I think I have a good idea of how much I like/dislike the range. In terms of the serum, I'm surprised it's lasted me as long as it has, because I've used about two pumps every day and I still have two thirds of the bottle left.
VIVISCAL GORGEOUS GROWTH DENSIFYING SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER/ELIXIR
Both the shampoo and conditioner ($19.99 each) are formulated with Ana:tel, a complex that is blended with biotin, keratin, and zinc. All three of these compounds promote the appearance of healthy looking hair. The shampoo and conditioner have a light, floral scent that isn't overpowering at all. My hair felt very lightweight and amazingly clean after using the products and I loved how the conditioner made my hair smooth and de-tangled after using it.
The Gorgeous Growth Densifying Elixir ($29.99) is a product with a consistency that I was not expecting at all. I thought that this serum would have an oily texture, but it's more of a liquidy gel. It also doesn't weigh down my hair like an oil would and because of that, I can apply it to the roots of my hair without worrying about flat hair. It has the same fresh and lightly scented smell that is similar to the shampoo and conditioner.
As for its claim of thickening the hair, I don't know if my hair got any "thicker". I did however notice an extreme growth of my hair. I'm not sure if that is due to using the hair serum along with the shampoo and conditioner, but my hair grew considerably faster during the month I used these Viviscal products. I'm actually slightly upset that I don't have anymore of the shampoo and conditioner to use because I did really enjoy using them. I will definitely be repurchasing them in the future.
The Gorgeous Growth Densifying range also includes supplement tablets that you can take to further increase hair thickness and growth. Something to point out too is that while a lot of companies push out product that claims to work wonders for your hair, Viviscal actually has scientific data and research to back up their claims. They are truly reputable and I would definitely recommend checking out their other products if you need some boost with your hair.

OGX BAMBOO FIBER-FULL SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER | STRENGTH & BODY
I've always seen OGX products along the hair care aisles and have always been curious as to how effective their shampoos and conditioners actually are. Flash forward to Generation Beauty 2016 Toronto, and after visiting the OGX booth, I walked away with various shampoo and conditioner packets to try. I fell in love with the OGX Bamboo Fiber-Full range, and set out to purchase my own bottles.
Unfortunately, I have quite thin and fine hair, so I am always down to try products that will help to volumize my hair. The OGX Bamboo Fiber-Full shampoo and conditioner is designed to deliver serious volume with bamboo fibers and soy proteins. They are also sulfate-free, meaning that they won't lead to weak or damaged hair and will help to retain moisture.
I like that the scent of the shampoo and conditioner isn't overpowering. It's a light, flowery, relaxing scent that lasts throughout the day. After rinsing the shampoo, my hair feels lightweight and refreshed (I love shampoos that give that clean, tingly feeling). Similarily, the conditioner doesn't weigh my hair down, rather it helps my hair retain moisture and allows for body and fullness.
Overall, while I was using the OGX Bamboo Fiber-Full shampoo and conditioner, I found my hair to be stronger, bouncier, and more voluminous. I'm actually quite sad that I have used up all of the shampoo and conditioner, because now that I have been going through some other bottles of various brands, my hair definitely does not feel the same as it did when I was using OGX. I will definitely need to pick up some more bottles!
If you have thin or fine hair, or hair that is easily weighed down, I highly recommend trying the OGX Bamboo Fiber-Full shampoo and conditioner and the other products from the same range.
