THE NEW LIPIDOL LINE (FROM THE MAKERS OF BIO-OIL)

If you follow me on Instagram, then you'd know that I adore Lipidol's Overnight Face Oil. Little did I know, Lipidol is the sister brand of Bio-Oil, which I love just as equally. When I heard about the new campaign for the Lipidol launch, I was so on board to try out the rest of the range and share my thoughts.

The Lipidol range includes the Cleansing Face Oil, Cleansing Body Oil, After Shave Oil, After Shower Oil, and the Overnight Face Oil. They vary in size and each oil retails at $12.99 CAD, and can be found at Shoppers Drug Mart and Walmart.

I've been using the Cleansing Face Oil as the first part of my skincare routine. This oil feels very refreshing after a long day of wearing makeup, due to the rosemary essential oil it contains. I have always been a fan of oil-based makeup removers, because they dissolve makeup easily, including waterproof makeup without being abrasive to the skin. I'm not the biggest fan of having to unscrew the cap to squeeze out some product, as I do think a pump would be the better choice here, but the oil dissolves my makeup so well, so I don't really mind. I'll usually pour about a teaspoon of the product onto my palm, rub it around my face to dissolve everything, and then wet my hands and continue rubbing which emulsifies the oil. Lastly, I'll wash everything off with some warm water, and voila! Makeup off!

I've been using Lipidol's Overnight Face oil long before trying the rest of the range, and as I said above, if you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen me feature it on my Instastory as a part of my nighttime skincare routine. I've been using this since September, and I can definitely say it's been a skincare saver over the cold winter months. As the last step of my skincare routine, it adds a luxurious layer of moisture to my skin, which I love wearing to bed. When I wake up the next morning, my skin feels super plump and hydrated, and it has never felt dry or tight since I've been using this oil.

The Lipidol Cleansing Body Oil is a shower oil that dissolves away dirt and cleans the skin without stripping the natural oils off of the skin. Once in the shower, I like to rub this all over my body and as it comes in contact with the water, it emulsifies into a rich lather. It's fragranced with lime essential oil, which gives it a nice gender-neutral scent. 
I reached for this a couple of times in the shower however, I did find myself going back to my bubbly shower gel because I liked how it lathered up really well whereas the Cleansing Body Oil emulsifies and doesn't bubble up. That being said though, I like how it's not abrasive on the skin, and I found that it's actually a great bath oil! You can just squeeze a couple drops into your bath water and use it that way too.

As the last step in my entire Lipidol daily skincare, I love using the After Shower Oil after night of pampering. It's a quick absorbing all over body moisturizer scented with Chamomile which makes it perfect for applying at night. While some overnight oils are very oily and don't sink into the skin, I found that my skin soaked up this oil so quickly, so I was able to go to bed with non-greasy skin and a light scent to help me relax and sleep. 

Lipidol also carries an After Shave Oil for men, which I have given to my boyfriend to test out. I'll get back to you with his thoughts soon!
