PIXI BY PETRA | NEW IN CANADA & MY CURRENT FAVOURITES

Ever since Pixi by Petra has reached Shoppers Drug Mart stores in Canada, I have been going on a Pixi binge and trying out so many of their products. I've been particularly drawn to their makeup products rather than the skincare, but you can be sure once I've racked up enough Optimum points, I will be making a trip to Shoppers again.

This has been my go-to trio as of late for my daily base makeup routine. I love the fact that more than half of my routine is one brand, and they all work so well together too! Today we're talking about the Flawless and Poreless Primer, Glow Booster, and Colour Correcting Powder Foundation

FLAWLESS AND PORELESS PRIMER
I have a slight obsession with foundation primer, so you can imagine my excitement when I saw this. Since the name states that it's flawless and poreless, I was expecting a silicone texture but this primer is actually more of a lotion type of texture. I do think it minimizes my pores, but because the texture is not like traditional pore minimizing primers, it's probably better marketed as a hydrating primer.
That being said, I've really enjoyed putting this on before my foundation. It gives my skin a dewy base that really allows my foundation to stick onto my face and last longer throughout the day without it rubbing off.

GLOW BOOSTER (PINK PEARL)
I've been using the Glow Booster as a filler to mix in with my foundation for that radiant glow. I found this to be very light weight, and as a result, it never changed the texture of any foundations that I mixed it into. It gives a slightly pink tint that has a brightening effect on the skin, but it's not overwhelming either. Although I like to use this to mix into my foundation, a small dab on the cheekbones or nose bridge would give a beautiful sheen as well. The Glow Booster actually comes in the Hello Rose! kit, which also includes a blush and lipgloss.

COLOUR CORRECTING POWDER FOUNDATION
I've been using this to set my foundation, and although it does hit a higher price point ($22.00 CAD), it has become one of my holy grail setting powders. Since it is a powder foundation, it gives slightly more coverage, but because of its ultra hydrating formulation, it doesn't feel cakey or heavy. The powder feels very nourishing, lightweight, and gives a semi-matte finish. It is not 100% matte, but it's the perfect type of finish for a natural look.

You can now find Pixi Beauty at Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada, or shop from the UK site as it ships internationally. I'm looking forward to trying more Pixi Beauty! What should I try next?

xoxo,
Nancy

*The Glow Booster was sent to me as a press sample. All other products were purchased with my own money.

  1. The Glow Booster and primer sound really neat! Does the primer help to reduce shine/oil?
