THE 'EVERYDAY' FACE

When it comes to a daily makeup routine, I never use the same products 100% of the time, of course, that all has to do with the #ootd and daily feels, but for the most part, my daily makeup routine doesn't change too radically. I've used some of these products for years, repurchasing and replenishing whenever they've run out, and others I've been using for the past few months, and love just as equally. I love this daily routine because I've narrowed it down to the most basic of products for what I need, and because I've been doing a similar routine for years, everything can be applied within fifteen minutes, making it perfect for my busy mornings. Although the products have changed throughout the years, the gist of my daily makeup is always foundation, eyebrows, eyeliner, and lips.

THE ROUTINE

To begin, I apply a thin layer of Smashbox's Photo Finish Hydrating Foundation Primer ($50), a lightweight and watery primer that leaves a cooling and refreshing sensation on the face. Because my skin tends to get particularly oily in the summer, I never skip foundation primer, as it not only helps to keep my face matte, but also helps to make my foundation last longer. After primer, I will squeeze a pea-sized amount of Tarte's Amazonian Clay Foundation ($51) onto the back of my hand before dotting it around my face. I usually go for three dots around both cheeks, chin, forehead, and a dot or two on my nose. The rest of the foundation gets applied to my neck to make sure there's no stark difference between my face and neck. This foundation blends in so easily, and I love the mattifying effect it has due to the Amazonian clay it contains. It also finishes to a powder-like finish, and has fairly high coverage, which is why I don't need to apply a lot. For concealer, I like to use the Match Perfection Concealer ($7.99) from Rimmel, a product I've been using for years. I'll apply some of this underneath my eyes, on my chin, forehead, and the bridge of my nose to brighten those spots up. I like to use Benefit's Boi-ing Concealer ($26) whenever I have a few extra spots to cover up, because it has amazing coverage which means I never have to use very much to cover any blemishes.

To keep my oily skin in check, I always set my foundation and concealer with a finishing powder. I've been loving Rimmel's new Clear Complexion Clarifying Powder ($6.99). The natural minerals help to keep the oil levels on my skin balanced, whereas the Pureskin complex it contains helps to minimize breakouts. To finish off my complexion, I'll sweep some of The Body Shop's Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder ($22) across my cheeks, jawline, and hairline to give my face some warmth and definition.

When it comes to eyes, I keep it super simple. For my eyebrows, I use the Eyebrow Designer from Essence ($2.99) in the shade 03. Blonde. I always say I'm going to try something else out every time this runs out, but I just keep coming back to it. The colour works for my brows quite well, and the waxy texture means that my brows will stay in place all day. For my eyes, I always do a simple winged liner, and I like using The Body Shop's 2-in-1 Smoky Gel Liner & Brow Definer ($15) because the formula is creamy enough for gentle application on the eye, and it sets very well for minimal smudging. For extra definition, I will also run the Longlasting Eye Pencil ($2.99) from Essence on my upper water line and there you have it for the eyes! Super quick and simple (and all I really need because I think my glasses give me extra definition).

One of the things I change up the most from my daily routine is my lip product. Some days I'm feeling a red lip, some days orange, some days I'm in such a rush to catch my train that I skip the lips altogether. I've been using Tarte's LipSurgence Lip Creme in Wonder ($31) a lot lately though, and although I have a gazillion other very similar pink colours in my collection, this one has been the one I've mostly been reaching for. It's a cute, flirty colour that doesn't stray too far from my regular lip colours, and I love how it slightly stains my lips which makes the colour last on much longer than other lipsticks.

Hope you guys enjoyed reading about what products I wear every day! Let me know what some of the daily makeup products you use are down in the comments below.

Cheers!
