INSIDE MY TRAVEL MAKE-UP BAG

I usually travel every six months to my hometown for my summer and winter holidays. As I no longer live in the house I grew up in, other than a few mementoes, I don't actually have anything of substance in my home, so I always have to pack everything I will need for my stay. I usually try to pack light, and only include products that I know I will use. Here is what I have brought with me in my make-up bag for this semi-annual trip.

Face
I recently talked about my base routine, however, the weather in my hometown is a lot less forgiving so I always like to bring different foundations to wear, depending on how drying the weather conditions are. The Rimmel 9-in-1 BB Cream is a personal favourite, with medium buildable coverage and a matte finish that is perfect for my oily skin. When travelling, I also try to bring products that can double as another product, so Rimmel's Match Perfection has been my go-to for concealer as well as working double time as a highlighter.

Eyes
For eyebrows, I love the Eyebrow Designer Pencil from Essence, which has a brush on the other end to blend the pencil. To tame them further, I've brought along an eyebrow gel from The Face Shop. For eyeliners, I brought the Rimmel Exaggerate Eyeliner for days when I have more time to do my eyeliner and want something a little more dramatic. I've mostly been using the H&M Liquid Eyeliner though, which I have to say, is one of the best inexpensive felt-tip liners I have ever used. It is super opaque, and lasts just as long as all of my other eyeliners. I also brought a 2-in-1 eyeliner/eyeshadow from Quo to double as a kohl liner and light eyeshadow for whenever I need it.

Lips
When travelling, lipsticks make great doubles for blush. I brought with me two Colorburst Matte Balms from Revlon, in the shades Sultry and Striking. These balms are super velvety and apply so nicely, but they also slightly stain your lips for a lasting finish.

Brushes/Tools
For tools, I have included the Real Techniques Buffing Brush and Contour Brush for foundation and bronzer application. I also packed my Complexion Brush from e.l.f. cosmetics for my powder application as well as a pair of Quo tweezers for perfect brow maintenance.

Fragrance, Chance by Chanel
I love the Twist and Spray bottles by Chanel, because you'll still get that lovely packaging and fragrance in a smaller bottle, but is also perfect for travel because the outer shell isn't glass, so there's practically no chance of a fragrance spill.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post, and I hope everyone is having a great 2016 thus far!

Cheers,
Nancy
